Christmas!!

We had a nativity Christmas Eve. Kaden and Gavin were wise men. Rylee was an angel. Sidney Mary, Porter Joseph, and Gavin baby Jesus. They all did a great job and looked so cute all dressed up and acting out while my dad read the story of Jesus' birth.

Waiting on the stairs to see if Santa came!

Gavin thoroughly enjoyed himself from the bouncer, holding all the new toys he got.
Even with all the new toys he got, Kaden still wanted us to bring the race track down so he could just play with that. Uncle Stu had a fun time playing with him.

All tuckered out by the end of opening. It's so hard to be a tiny guy.
Both boys got spoiled lots but who could resist they're such good boys! I love Christmas and the magic it brings. I'm grateful for my Savior and His birth. Grateful for families that we can spend eternity with.

Gavin's Blessing Day

Gavin's blessing day was so wonderful. Kaden had a sleepover at my parent's house so it was very low-key here. We enjoyed our morning with Gavin then got him all dressed and ready for his special day. He was so good during all of church, including his blessing. When he started to think about fussing during the blessing my dad gave him his pacifier and he was happy again. What a sweet boy. We all came home and had lunch after and enjoyed the celebration. We ate a yummy lunch and Allen took some great pictures in the backyard. How great it is to have our family all close to share in our special occasions and be there for each other. I feel so blessed today that the Lord has given me two great boys. I am so grateful I get to be their mom. I can't believe the tremendous love I feel for both of them, it is indescribable. Kaden has done so amazing through all of the changes he's had. He's the best big brother ever. I can already tell these two are going to be the best of friends. We love you Gavin Chase and are so glad you came to our family. Daddy gave you such a special blessing today that we will always remember. You are so loved.

Happy Halloween!!

Trying on his costume
We started the month off by going to the meadows pumpkin patch. It was fun, we did a hay ride, pet the ponies, picked a pumpkin, and saw lots of other fun things. Kaden had a fun time helping dad pick the pumpkin.

Kaden got really excited to carve his pumpkin this year. This is his classic flapping and jumping out of shear excitement and happiness.
At first he wasn't sure about getting all the "goop" out, it gave him the willies when Paul showed it to him. But eventually he warmed up and helped dad get all the "goop" out and thoroughly enjoyed it. They even carved a second pumpkin after this one.

Towards the end he started to get tired and was all about snuggling up to dad and giving kisses while he finished up. He is such a loving little guy, Paul was enjoying all the loves he was getting!

I took pictures and held Gavin this time but here is documentation that I actually was there. Gavin was a good boy and just slept through the whole thing.

The finished Project!! Kaden wanted a happy face so we kept it simple.

Buzz pumpkin, compliments of "ama" and "ampa"

This year we all went up to Randi's house to decorate and do our big Halloween celebration. The guys did a great job setting up, and it was the talk of the neighborhood. It's always fun to go all out and hang at the Welch house. The 3 little boys dressed up as skeletons this year and it turned out so cute! Every time the door rang Jaxon and Kaden would run to answer it, they'd each get to hand out a piece of candy to each kid and everyone thought they were so so cute. These 3 are going to be great buddies, who knows what trouble they will get into :)

The whole clan. Porter even joined in and wore his skeleton shirt to match the other boys. The girls were adorable black cats. Everyone looked great and had a fun time!

Gavin's first few weeks

We have sure enjoyed having this new sweet spirit in our house! Two boys is so much fun! Kaden has really taken a liking to Gavin and is so very careful with him. He rocks him gently in his bouncer and puts his pacifier in his mouth. If he ever hears him crying he says, "it's ok Avin, Kaden's right here." It is so fun to see Kaden be such a great big brother already. He really hasn't had any hard tantrums or misbehaving since Gavin came, he just mostly likes to stay at his house and is very attached to mom, which I don't mind :)
We went to see Uncle Stu at the Green Russell, Gavin loved Stu. He just stared at him the whole time, totally content in his arms. And I think Stu was pretty fond of him too.

Twin jammies!
We've been enjoying lots and lots of snuggling. I love this age when they are so tiny and just snuggle in and sleep on you all day long!

First time in his crib! He doesn't ever really lay in there though, still in mom and dad's room. But it was fun to let him try it out, and Kaden liked trying it too.

He seems to like the snugabunny

Kaden came down the first morning we had Gavin home and wanted to hold him. These pictures of him loving on him just melted my heart. He is so tender and soft, such a good boy and it's so fun to see them together and Kaden so happy to have Gavin in our family. He always wonders, "where's Avin?" And he always enjoys being with us while I feed Gavin and change his diaper. The 3 of us have a lot of fun together all day, they are both such great boys and I love spending my days with them.

We are so blessed that we now have a family of 4! Gavin has been the perfect addition and we love him so very much. So far he is pretty laid back, a little fussy when he's awake but not too bad. He loves to snuggle and be held, if he is sad and you just lay him with you in bed or bundle him and hold him close he will stop crying and go to sleep. So fun that he has hair, it's so soft and fuzzy after he baths. He loves the bath, but hates lotion. He loves Kaden, very patient with all the kisses and loves and "help" that big brother gives. They are going to be such good buddies. Love you Gavin Chase!
